Over a period of over two decades, RCUD underwater deminers have demined over three million square meters in the sea, rivers and lakes, from which they have removed and destroyed over 200 tons of various explosive devices left on the waterbed after various war conflicts, not only on the territory of Montenegro but also in the waters of other countries.
In addition to underwater demining, RCUD deminers also carried out demining on land, covering four thousand square meters of the former military training ground for the expansion of the Plantation “13 July” in Podgorica. In cooperation with demining companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, they conducted mine reconnaissance and removal of anti-personnel mines along the border of Montenegro with Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania. In 2007, Montenegro was declared a country free of anti-personnel mines by the international community.
Divers have so far removed about 4 tons of various explosive devices from rivers and lakes.
About 3 tons of explosives left over from World War II were removed from the Morača and Zeta rivers.
Over half a ton of shells of various calibers were removed from Lake Skadar.
RCUD divers removed about one ton of various explosive devices and discarded weapons from the Trebišnjica River, covering an area of 50,000 square meters.
